Jugendbad

If you love the endless expanse of Borkum Beach away from the beach tents, you’ll get your fill at the so-called "Jugendbad." There are no beach tents or baskets here to block your view. The surf on this section of the beach makes swimming even more fun.

You can reach this part of the beach by heading along the promenade toward the Strandcafe Seeblick. At the level of Cafe Sturmecks, you can leave the promenade via a Loopdeelen path (which ends at a playground with beach volleyball nets and beach soccer goals) and walk all the way to the water's edge. It’s quite a walk, but well worth it. If you want to add a bit of romance, you can also light a campfire in certain parts of the beach. For safety reasons, you need permission from the Borkum city regulatory office. Please call 04922 303-225 for information. Keep in mind that permission can be revoked if, for example, unfavorable wind direction or strong winds are forecast shortly before the event. Toilets and showers are just about 50 meters away.
