## Description

The Kurt Weill Zentrum in Dessau combines music, architecture, and history in a fascinating way. It is located in the Meisterhaus Feininger, a building designed by Walter Gropius and part of the UNESCO World Heritage. This historic building now serves as a documentation and information center for the life and work of the composer Kurt Weill, who was born in Dessau.

Weill, world-famous for The Threepenny Opera and his collaboration with Bertolt Brecht, fled the Nazis in 1933 and later influenced the American music scene. At the Kurt Weill Zentrum, you can learn more about his extraordinary career. In addition to a permanent exhibition, there are numerous music recordings and film documentaries that offer you an extensive insight into his work.

Each year, the international Kurt Weill Festival takes place here, where the interplay of music and Bauhaus architecture is especially highlighted. The special atmosphere of the Zentrum, nestled within the historic Meisterhaus district, makes the visit a cultural experience. Dive into Kurt Weill’s world and be inspired by the combination of music history and modernist architecture!
