Mineralien-Museum

Description
Mineralien-Museum excites families with engaging tours, workshops, and kids’ birthday events like the Dino Party or the Fossil Hunt.
The museum displays meteorites, crystals, minerals, rocks, and fossils in a fascinating cabinet of wonders with large-scale images, 3D exhibits, and themed zones. In the experimental room, you can hear the sound of the stones and make volcanic rocks, slate slabs, flint, and limestone resonate yourself.
In the preparation workshop, visitors big and small work on their finds with a hammer and grinding machine. The museum’s location near the Geological Trail by Lake Baldeney in Essen invites you on exciting trips around mining history, quarries, and muschelkalk cliffs with fossils over 300 million years old 🌍.
Educational staff guide you through discovering the world of stones and the history of the Earth and its inhabitants.
