Mineralogie Museum Mettingen

Description
At the Mineralogie Museum Mettingen, you'll find over 30,000 fascinating exhibits ranging from mining models and fossils to local geology, as well as systematic collections and crystallography. Especially captivating are the diverse minerals from A to Z, rock collections, jewelry pieces, and precious stones.
The museum also features changing special exhibitions like “My Friend the Pebble,” showcasing an impressive locally found stone axe. During family activity days, such as the “Mouse Door-Opening Day” with the theme “Little Wonders,” there are plenty of minerals and fossils to discover and admire.
This special exhibition series also includes the “Stones of the Month” 📅, which presents geological backgrounds and the history of unique stones to children and families in a vivid and educational way. For example, stromatolites, considered some of the oldest signs of life on Earth, or howlite, which is not only rare but also used as a turquoise imitation.
