Miniaturpark "Kleine Sächsische Schweiz"

Want to see all the sights of Saxon Switzerland in one day? That’s possible at the Miniaturpark "Kleine Sächsische Schweiz" in Dorf Wehlen! Spread over 8,000 square meters of park area, a variety of lovingly detailed scenes made from local sandstone and delicate model craftsmanship invite you to stroll, marvel, and smile.

Stone mason and master sculptor Jan Lorenz and his family combine craftsmanship with art in their miniature park. The region’s most important buildings are found here, along with its most distinctive rock formations and legendary modes of transport. At the push of a button, most scenes come to life. For example, here the Kirnitzschtalbahn sets off, there a carnival parade marches by, blasting is done at the quarry, and elsewhere the Richard Wagner monument — originally standing in the Liebethaler Grund — appears dramatically with fog, light, and music from below.

A highlight for train enthusiasts is the 1st German miniature mountain railway, which transports passengers through the park over a distance of 900 meters. On special occasions, a steam locomotive is even used! In the demonstration workshop, visitors can see how new miniatures, decorative items, and sandstone creations are made.
