Description

The Missionsmuseum der Erzabtei St. Ottilien displays around 1,300 ethnological and natural history exhibits from Africa, Korea, and other countries in its permanent exhibition – a rich cultural experience for the whole family.

In addition to the permanent exhibition, there are rotating cabinet exhibits presenting objects from the collection storage, offering fresh and varied insights regularly. The collection also tells the story and activities of the missionary Benedictines of St. Ottilien, providing additional background and education.

Originally created as a teaching collection for future missionaries, the museum has been modernized while retaining its authentic character – perfect for diving together into foreign cultures.

The freely accessible exhibition invites you to explore the diverse cultural treasures without an entrance barrier. The museum is also wheelchair accessible and equipped with elevators, so all family members can visit comfortably.
