Family Beach

The family-friendly beach by the green dike is supervised by the DLRG and offers ideal conditions for both young and old. The beach chairs are set up on the spacious dike, surrounded by plenty of space for sunbathing, playing, and romping around. There are various play equipment for children, and near the stairs you can still stand comfortably anywhere. Several bathing ladders lead into the water, each equipped with a convenient beach shower.

Dog Beach

Directly adjacent to the swimming beach is the dog beach, where four-legged friends can romp to their heart’s content. A paved path over the dike ensures barrier-free access.

Activity Beach

Sports enthusiasts will also find plenty to enjoy here: a marked beach volleyball court invites exciting matches. Grab a team and bump and set with all your energy!

Nearby Amenities

Right behind the dike, you’ll find a kiosk where beach chairs are rented during opening hours. Another highlight is the café with a coffee garden, offering a wonderful view of the Pellwormer Leuchtturm. Plenty of parking spaces are available right at the dike for a convenient arrival, and an accessible restroom is located in a separate building by the parking lot.

A Great Experience Even at Low Tide

At low tide, this beach is perfect for extended mudflat hikes. The tour ends at the tidal creek edge of the Hever, and the view back to the lighthouse helps you keep your bearings.
