At URWELTSTEINBRUCH, your family can dive into an exciting adventure together – searching for fossils in a famous quarry! Children aged 4 to 16 years will enjoy a playful discovery tour about fossils and paleontology with Prof. Ichthyo 🦕.

You’ll encounter life-sized dinosaurs like the Triceratops, Tyrannosaurus, and Pterosaur, as well as the original Triceratops skull "Atlas". In the museum, you can also admire million-year-old petrified wood and sparkling crystals 💎.

In the sandbox for little treasure hunters, you’ll find shark teeth and minerals, and in the creative corner, you can paint and craft. There’s also the chance to break open exciting geodes on site and discover fascinating natural formations.

Special highlights on weekends are the Amethyst geode shows on Saturdays and Sundays at 11:30 AM and 2:30 PM. Anyone interested can borrow a hammer and chisel to make fossil hunting even more exciting. All fossils you find are included in the admission price.

For the whole family’s comfort, there are shady seating areas, restrooms, and snacks and drinks available. Also, a free-access gallery with natural wonders, artworks, and a timeline of Earth’s history invites you to visit. The museum shop offers fossils, minerals, meteorites, and games – also with no entrance fee.
