The ZisterzienserMuseum Kloster Walkenried offers a special family outing during the fall school break: on the “Little Monks for a While” tour, children aged 5 to 10, together with their families, playfully travel back to the Middle Ages and experience monastery life authentically while wearing monk robes.
The cabinet exhibition “Peasants’ War and Monastery Storm” vividly presents the year 1525 from the monastery’s perspective, exploring the causes and consequences of the peasant uprising and is included with museum admission.
From October 16 to November 1, the “Spiritual Autumn” invites you to special events that bring the power and calm of the monastery to life as places for reflection and spirituality.
Atmospheric candlelight tours on selected dates in October and November lead you on a mystical walk through the cloister and adjoining rooms.
