Become a Young Falconer at the Falconry "Birds of Prey"

Autumn holiday program for children

Since 2021, the Iwersen family has fulfilled their dream of having their own falconry at their home in Speyer. Currently, more than 30 birds of prey live at the falconry. This includes, among others, the goshawk, the Harris hawk, the little owl, the barn owl, and the white-tailed eagle, and many more.

Courtney and Thorsten Iwersen and their team actively practice hunting with birds of prey, protect raptors, breed them, and also engage in public outreach. The "Birds of Prey" team regularly visits kindergartens and schools to inspire even the youngest children about birds of prey. They also take the animals on the road for various events.

During the autumn holidays, the falconry offers children aged 8 to 14 the chance to try their hand at being falconers. At the end, each child receives a certificate. Snacks and drinks are provided. Registration is possible via a contact form on the website. The exact time will be announced upon registration.
