Description

Right next to Kleine Kalmit Elementary School, on the site of the former sports field, one of a total of 19 alla hopp! facilities in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region has been created. All facilities were financed by the Dietmar Hopp Foundation and are meant to be a place of meeting for locals and visitors alike, young and old. alla hopp! is a unique concept developed together with experts for movement and socializing in the region. All generations are invited to freely use the accessible facilities at no cost to move, stay fit, and relax as they please.

The facility in Ilbesheim consists of four modules with multiple elements:

Module 1: Movement course under the motto "Fitness and Chilling" with various sports equipment but also, for example, hammocks

Module 2: Nature-inspired toddler play area with everything little ones love: water playground, swing, slide, and much more

Module 3: Nature-based play and movement area with treehouse, labyrinth, and slacklines

Module 4: Sports area for teenagers – here you'll find, for example, a dirt bike track for those who want to go fast

The Ilbesheim facility is one of the largest and therefore also offers a large grassy area, ideal for playing soccer or having a picnic. The facility is freely accessible at all times, and accessible restrooms are available on-site.

Information on accessibility:

The alla hopp! facility is designed to be mostly barrier-free. In general, all sports elements are installed at ground level. Hammocks for relaxation, trampolines, the I-Zone play area, and the circular path are barrier-free.

In addition, the facility offers a barrier-free family carousel that can also be used with wheelchairs, walkers, walking aids, and strollers. There is a so-called spring bench equipped with a fold-away side armrest to allow access, including from a wheelchair. An accessible restroom is available in the restroom pavilion.

Picnic in nature

Whether on a hike or bike tour: a picnic outdoors is a special experience – especially with regional specialties from the Palatinate! To keep nature as undisturbed as possible, please use only designated rest areas. Forests and vineyards often have no trash bins to avoid attracting wild animals and to keep the landscape clean.

Therefore: whatever you bring, please take back with you. Food leftovers and packaging can be dangerous for animals and often take decades to decompose. Dispose of your waste responsibly to protect the unique nature of the Palatinate!
