Besucherzentrum "Tor zum Moor"

Description
Experience a two-hour ride on the historic narrow-gauge train through the Große Uchter Moor and follow the trail of Moora, the oldest bog body in northern Germany.
The Uchte-Essern peat railway offers nearly 10 km of track – the longest narrow-gauge rail network in Lower Saxony – a real adventure for the whole family!
After the ride, the visitor center "Tor zum Moor" invites you to explore, while the café "Altes Torfwerk" tempts you with fresh treats.
Special nature highlights like crane watching tours allow you to marvel at migratory birds in the Große Uchter Moor. Dark Sky events in cooperation with the Minden School Observatory offer unique moments under the starry sky.
The exhibition at the Besucherzentrum tells the story of Moora, the 2,650-year-old bog body, excitingly combining archaeology, forensic science, and natural history.
Families and groups can also book group rides – perfect for family celebrations, outings, or club trips.
