Description

Die "Teuflische Acht" is a particularly scenic circular hike that connects two of the most famous natural wonders of the South Eifel: the Teufelsschlucht and the Irreler Waterfalls. The trail takes you through an impressive rocky landscape full of exciting adventures.

The path is shaped like a figure eight and named after the famous Teufelsschlucht, a dramatic rock formation created about 12,000 years ago by massive rockfalls. You’ll discover narrow trails passing mighty rock towers and scattered boulders with mysterious cracks and weathering – perfect for children who love climbing and exploring.

At the end of the hike, the Irreler Waterfalls await you, natural rapids formed by ancient rockslides and accompanied by an impressive display of water movement.

Along the route, you’ll also pass historic millstone quarries marked by distinctive circular chisel marks, giving insight into the former craft of stonemasons and adding an extra layer of fascination.

After the adventure, you can recharge at the Naturparkzentrum Teufelsschlucht. Here you'll find refreshments and a dinosaur park with life-size replicas, especially thrilling for younger visitors and sure to inspire wonder. 🌿🦖
