Long Night of the Underworlds

The exact origins of the underworld fade into the shadows of history. One thing is certain: the myths surrounding it are not for the faint-hearted. And yet, there are those heroes and adventurers who venture into a new world that will remain a secret to most people forever. There, in cellars and catacombs, tunnels and basement rooms, excavation sites, garages, and crypts, they encounter a mystical blend of theater, music, culinary delights, guided tours, and lectures. But be careful: even if hellhounds and death gods seem to have retired in the "Trier Underworlds" – a bit of curiosity and a spirit of adventure are essential.

On the Long Night, starting at 4:30 PM, gates to the underworld open throughout the city center: on various routes, you visit two locations each with a special program and then conclude your experience in one of the Offene Keller (Open Cellars) – including a complimentary special drink!

But that’s not all: your route ticket also grants you access to the other Offene Keller, provided the maximum visitor capacity has not been reached. Don’t worry: with a little patience, you too can enjoy the cellar atmosphere once the crowd thins out.

All young explorers will enjoy a special children’s route.
