Description

The Grafisches Kabinett im Höhmannhaus showcases one of the most important collections of graphic art from the Baroque and Rococo periods, featuring over 40,000 works on paper. Rotating exhibitions highlight different aspects of historical drawing and printmaking art that flourished in Augsburg.

The collection preserves Augsburg’s art historical heritage spanning roughly 500 years and includes masterpieces by renowned artists and publishers from the 16th to the 18th centuries, including works by Hans Holbein the Younger and architectural drawings by Elias Holl.

On display are religious scenes, portraits, landscapes, still lifes, interiors, and decorative art designs. Numerous drawings by Baroque artists such as Cosmas Damian Asam, Matthäus Günther, and Johann Heinrich Schönfeld further enrich the exhibition.
