Description

The Gruben- und Feldbahnmuseum Zeche Theresia invites you to experience industrial history up close! The museum is located on the historic site of the former Zeche Theresia coal mine, which was closed in 1892.

Explore the lovingly preserved and restored industrial buildings that now serve as a museum, and enjoy exciting shuttle rides 🛤️ on the Muttenthalbahn. This field railway runs along an 850-meter track connecting the parking lot, the museum grounds, and the nearby Zeche Nachtigall mine.

The museum is situated right below Steinhausen Castle and offers family-friendly insights into the mining tradition of the Ruhr area – a great blend of technology, history, and culture!
