Bandwirker-Museum

Description
The Bandwirker-Museum impressively showcases the technical development of the local ribbon industry – from hand-operated devices dating back to 1836 to modern machines. You’ll get a comprehensive insight into the traditional craft of ribbon weaving, which has held significant regional importance since 1745.
The demonstrations of the production processes are especially exciting: you can watch ribbon weaving, see how shuttle spools are made, and how Jacquard cards are punched.
The museum also has extensive collections of technical equipment, books, and videos, as well as a large exhibit of traditional ribbon samples.
A special highlight is the annual Bandwirker-Museum Day held as part of the German Museum Day, which emphasizes the cultural significance of the museum. 🎉
