Description

The Hammerschmiede Oberprechtal is a lovingly restored, fully operational hammer forge that is 200 years old. Here you can see how three large forging hammers are powered by an impressive undershot waterwheel.

The forge was in operation until the 1980s and was then converted into a museum with live demonstrations. This makes history come alive and accessible for families.

The supporting association regularly offers guided group tours where you can learn all about the art of blacksmithing and the technology behind it – an exciting experience for both young and old! 🔨💧
