Description

## Brief Description

Kloster Jerichow showcases 875 years of monastery history and architectural culture. Kloster Jerichow is an impressive building visible from afar.

## Description

Kloster Jerichow is a venerable foundation of the Premonstratensian order. Due to a scarcity of natural building stones, the art of brickmaking was practiced here. It became a symbol of North German brick churches. The monastery and church in Jerichow were the center of architectural craftsmanship, and the late Gothic brick church style can be found in several places in the Altmark region.

The simple beauty of Romanesque style and the largely unchanged setting are what make the monastery complex in Jerichow unique.

Kloster Jerichow by the Elbe radiates a peculiar calm and strength that makes it worth a visit.
