Schifferscheune und Heimatstube Derben: Vom Leben der einfachen Leute

Description
## Brief Summary
In Derben, the Heimatstube and Schifferscheune depict life and work in the Elbe boatmen's village – authentically, personally, and full of history.
## Description
The village of Derben, like many other places on the Elbe, has been connected to fishing and shipping for centuries. The local shipyards have a history going back up to 200 years. If you want to learn more about times long past in Derben, be sure to plan a visit to the Heimatverein.
In the former inn “Fürst Bismarck” from 1890, original furnished rooms show how a family lived here from the late 19th century through the GDR era – with a children's room, living and sleeping rooms, kitchen, and numerous everyday objects.
Right next door, the Schifferscheune conveys how closely the villagers' lives have always been connected to the Elbe. From the arduous towing upstream to modern motor shipping – numerous models, photo documents, and artifacts make the development of river shipping tangible up to the present day.
