Description

Museum Treuchtlingen is one of the largest local history museums in Bavaria and holds a collection of over 30,000 objects 🏛️.

The exhibits take you through the Stone Age, Celts, and Romans with fascinating finds from prehistory and early history, including an accurate replica of a Roman villa rustica.

In the medieval section, you’ll see artifacts from excavations of the Upper Fortress, a model of the castle complex, and research findings about the Carolingian canal project Karlsgraben.

The modern history exhibition displays furniture and life culture from the 17th to the 20th century – including a valuable Renaissance cabinet from Möhren Castle.

The museum was founded in 1973 as a local history museum and has been expanded several times since – a perfect chance for anyone wanting to experience history up close!
