Description

The Natur- und Jagdmuseum auf Burg Pappenheim displays nearly all native animals of the region and offers fascinating insights into the history of the count’s hunting tradition.

One of the highlights is a large sound display where you can hear the calls of all game-protected animals on the ground at the push of a button – a great experience for both kids and adults.

The exhibition includes artistically framed butterflies and beetles, as well as exhibits on birds, fish, mosses, lichens, and reptiles. The labels are placed next to the display cases – making discovering especially exciting and interactive for school groups.

Furniture and tableware featuring hunting motifs also provide a glimpse into hunting culture. Works and books by Jörg Mangold, a well-known painter from Pappenheim who especially depicts hunting themes, complete the visit.

Especially exciting for children: A tactile puzzle allows them to feel various natural materials like bark, furs, and fruits without looking. Additionally, you can watch a film about nature and hunting.
