RömerMuseum Weißenburg
Description
The RömerMuseum Weißenburg showcases an impressive archaeological treasure discovered in 1979 near the Roman baths: a total of 114 artifacts, including 17 unique bronze deities.
This treasure likely dates back to the mid-3rd century AD and is a hideout of a looter during the Alamanni invasions. Among the finds are votive plaques, figurines, vessels, tools, weapons, and metal pieces – a fascinating glimpse into history.
Since renovation and reopening in 2017, the museum offers a modern and accessible permanent exhibition. The exhibits are newly displayed and carefully restored, lit to particularly highlight the treasure.
