Description

The Heimatkundliche Sammlung brings the history of the region close to you – with a special focus on agriculture, school, traditional costumes, and ceramics.

In eight lovingly designed rooms, you will find tools, products, and life stories from earlier times. The exhibition shows everyday life from the past and brings it to life through vivid display panels, photos, and descriptions.

For children, there is an exciting little schoolroom to explore 🎒. Also, new worlds open up in the museum kitchen – discover what a cooking box and a savings stove were!

Especially remarkable are the decorated chests, cupboards, and the canopy bed from a Heidecker district, showing how bedrooms were furnished in the past. The displayed clothing also explains how traditional costumes were influenced by different ruling areas: colorful Catholic attire in the former Pfalz-Neuburg region and darker Protestant costumes in the neighboring Brandenburg-Ansbach area.

The permanent exhibition „Stadtgeschichte(n) von unten“ tells exciting new stories from current archaeological excavations in the region, offering fresh insights into the city's history.
