Description

Discover the Stadtmuseum Neuburg a. d. Donau, housed in the magnificent Weveldhaus! This originally late Gothic building was transformed into a Baroque aristocratic palace in the early 18th century and is a sight to behold on its own. Across three floors, the permanent exhibition offers a vibrant and clear insight into the rich history and present of Neuburg, a small city with a grand past.

A special focus is on the Roman era in Neuburg. Here you can expect fascinating archaeological finds such as the famous Schifffibel and a Bronze-Venusstatuette. Learn more about the Roman military camps, the Donaulimes, and the history of the important Roman bridge in Stepperg. 🏛️

The museum also presents valuable objects from historical collections and reflects a long tradition of antiquity research in Neuburg, including the collections of Count Palatine Ottheinrich and the research of Joseph Benedikt Graßegger.
