Jura-Museum Eichstätt

The Jura-Museum Eichstätt takes you on a fascinating journey back to the Jurassic era, about 150 million years ago. You'll discover tropical islands, reefs, and lagoons filled with a variety of prehistoric animals and plants – like from another world! 🦕

A real highlight is the exceptionally well-preserved Archaeopteryx fossil, the famous "ancient feather" and a crucial evolutionary link between dinosaurs and birds. In the aquarium, you can admire Bavaria's most diverse coral reef with around 100 species – from colorful coral fish to starfish and sea urchins, vividly showcasing the reef ecosystem.

With multimedia smartphone guides, interactive exhibits, models, and videos, the Jurassic period comes vividly to life. For young explorers, there are exciting workshops, and you can even celebrate birthdays right in the museum – a special experience for little adventurers! 🎉
