Theodor-Storm-Zentrum

Description
Experience a special atmosphere in the exhibition at Theodor-Storm-Zentrum, located in the former home of Theodor Storm in Husum:
More than 155 years ago – on October 8, 1866 – Storm moved into the house at Wasserreihe 31 with his family, which is now open to visitors as a poet's museum: an old Husum merchant's house with 14 rooms dating back to 1730. The interior of the building, such as the stairwell, hallways, ceilings, and doors, have been preserved in their original state from the time it was built and from the Storm era. Manuscripts, pictures, and everyday items tell the story of the poet's daily life and the creation of his famous works, as seen in the study room (the "Poet’s little parlor"), where Storm wrote poems like "Over the Heath" and novellas like Pole Poppenspäler, Aquis submersus, and Carsten Curator.
The Theodor-Storm-Zentrum also features a Christmas-decorated living room – just as Theodor Storm loved it.
The Theodor-Storm-Gesellschaft offers guided tours for children and adults. Readings are regularly held.
