Description

The Grünes Gewölbe is a Baroque treasure chamber built between 1723 and 1729 by Augustus the Strong. Here you will find sparkling gold, impressive rock crystal, and diamonds – a true symbol of wealth and power.

The museum is made up of two main sections: The Historical Grünes Gewölbe on the ground floor features authentically restored treasure rooms, while the New Grünes Gewölbe on the upper floor showcases special individual pieces behind glass and under impressive lighting.

The Grünes Gewölbe offers a spectacular visual experience with shimmering light, golden shine, and sparkling jewels that amaze visitors just as Augustus the Strong intended.

There are also regular special art exhibitions and events, such as in the Sponselstube of the New Grünes Gewölbe or with thematic presentations of selected objects.

The Grünes Gewölbe is part of the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden, a renowned museum complex with diverse collections like paintings, sculptures, porcelain, and historical costumes – perfect for an exciting family cultural discovery.
