Verkehrsmuseum Dresden
Description
The Verkehrsmuseum Dresden takes you on an exciting journey through the world of mobility on land, water, and air with varied exhibitions and numerous interactive stations for children.
You can look forward to many interactive highlights: In the traffic garden, children learn traffic rules in a playful way with pedal cars and bicycles – even a practical driving test is possible upon registration! In the airplane simulator, young aspiring pilots can experience the adventure of flying.
In the dyna mix lab, there are physics experiments related to traffic, such as braking distance tests, controlling mini vehicles, and exploring movement patterns.
The train exhibition invites you to ride along in various driver’s cabs and operate switches yourself – it feels like you’re real train drivers from over 100 years ago. Rare items such as the steam-powered steam car or the family motorcycle “Böhmerland” are also waiting to be discovered.
-
With the museum mouse Flitzi, you can discover exciting activities at many stations, for example during the birthday party or the puzzle rally.
-
A journey through the history of shipping on the Elbe River – up close inside a stylized ship’s hull.
-
Explore 200 years of aviation history and the secret of air in the experimental room.
-
Dive into 200 years of road traffic, meet the people behind the vehicles, and design your own vehicle in the future lab.
-
Look forward to special exhibits such as the replica of the balloon "Plauen" from 1908 with its adventurous Baltic Sea history.
