Description

Schloss Pillnitz invites you to explore a fascinating world full of history and nature. The extensive palace grounds feature various themed gardens, including the picturesque English Garden with a pavilion and a bronze statue of Juno on an island.

There is also a Chinese garden with a fountain and a Chinese pavilion – a blend of European and far Eastern garden art. Exciting attractions like the famous Pillnitz camellia, the Triton gondola, the orangery with side wings, and a palm house offer a variety of discoveries.

The historical background makes Schloss Pillnitz special: it once served as the summer residence of the Saxon electors and kings. The ensemble of architecturally remarkable buildings includes the Water Palace and the Mountain Palace from the early 18th century, created by the well-known architects Matthäus Daniel Pöppelmann and Zacharias Longuelune.

Visitors dive into the courtly life of the 18th century, for example in the Temple of Venus, which was used for festive occasions, or in richly decorated halls. The park also surprises with historic ruins and restored elements like the Gothic ruin on the hill and the Lion’s Head Bastion.

A diverse excursion destination for families⭐, combining history and nature in an impressive way.
