Description

Schloss Mespelbrunn invites you to explore the history and culture of an impressive Renaissance building and experience its romantic charm.

The castle has recently been carefully restored: this includes the traditional roof with durable slate on the east wing and the lovingly renovated museum rooms with their artistically renewed details, such as the restored gargoyles on the Soldier’s Fountain, showcasing traditional craftsmanship.

The castle also offers a special setting for weddings, both in the specially designed ceremony room and in the Maria Schnee chapel.

With a history dating back to 1412, it originated from a fortified residence on a wild forest edge and was expanded over 18 years until 1569 into a Renaissance castle under the influence of Peter Echter von Mespelbrunn and his wife.
