LWL-Freilichtmuseum Hagen

Description
The LWL-Freilichtmuseum Hagen takes you on a journey into a world full of crafts and technological history from Westphalia and Lippe – over 200 years to discover and experience.
Here you can enjoy the scent of freshly baked bread and roasted coffee, watch the lively spectacle of the blacksmith fires, and listen to the calm sounds of the forest and the Mäckinger stream, occasionally interrupted by the sound of a hammer.
In historic half-timbered houses, you experience how craftsmen lived and worked in the past. You can take part in hands-on activities such as making nails, carving spoons, or making your own paper. Old crafts like forging, typesetting, printing, and pressing come alive.
Especially popular are the museum and craft shops, where you can purchase handmade products like brushes, brooms, and fresh bread. Special programs with traditional games like hitting the pot and blind man's buff are offered especially for birthday children.
The museum is located in a picturesque landscape with many half-timbered houses and beautiful walking paths – the perfect place for a successful family outing. Guided tours invite you to experience crafts with all your senses: touch, smell, and taste.
