Staßfurter Rundfunk- und Fernsehtechnik: Geschichte am Originalstandort

Description
## Short Description
Staßfurt has played a role in German technology history. Today, an exhibition here showcases highlights from over 100 years of radio and television technology.
## Description
Imperial, RFT, Stern-Radio – if these names make your heart beat faster, then the Staßfurt exhibition is just the place for you. The collection displays the development from the early inventor's workshops through the golden years of the 1930s and the GDR era up to the fresh start after the 1989 reunification. Besides originals from Staßfurt, the "Friends of Staßfurter Rundfunk- und Fernsehtechnik" also show numerous devices from other factories in the former GDR.
In the Staßfurt radio factory, the "Mikrohet W" rolled off the line in 1929 – Germany's first network radio with a superheterodyne receiver. This technology revolutionized radio reception. In 1930, the Imperial brand was introduced. After World War II, production continued under the name "VEB Stern-Radio Staßfurt." The main television producer of the GDR was part of the Volkseigener Betriebe RFT association. To this day, TVs are built here under the TechniSat brand. The exhibition, which can be visited by appointment, also tells this story.
