Städtisches Museum Aschersleben: Ganz schön spektakulär

Description
## Short Description
The dried ear of a prehistoric mammoth and Germany's only publicly accessible Freemason temple – enough reasons to visit the city museum.
## Description
A mammoth ear in Aschersleben? Exactly, and it most likely comes from the famous Siberian Beresovka mammoth, discovered during an adventurous expedition in 1902 and transported in conveniently packed pieces to what was then St. Petersburg. Later, it came into the hands of Prof. Dr. Martin Schmidt, whose paleontological study collection is now one of the museum's highlights.
And what about the Freemason temple? For that, the eventful history of the museum building must be told. Built and used until the expulsion by the National Socialists, it was the home of the Aschersleben Freemasons lodge. Today, an active lodge occupies the building again. Their temple can be viewed during the museum tour, complemented by many other exhibits.
The “Explorer Tour with the Museum Raven” teaches knowledge in a child-friendly and interesting way at 15 exciting interactive stations.
