Technische Sammlungen Dresden
Description
Technische Sammlungen Dresden is the technology museum and science center of the state capital Dresden. In a former camera factory, children, teenagers, and families find many opportunities to experiment and explore natural phenomena, fundamental sciences, and the latest achievements in technology. With permanent exhibitions on the history of photography and film, computers, and other media technology, as well as special exhibitions on photographic art and current technological research, Technische Sammlungen encourage engagement with the technical foundations of the present. A special feature is the combination of technology and industrial history with science and current research. Technische Sammlungen is an adventure space, a public forum for technology research, a museum of information society, and a venue for photography and animated film—all in one. Cooperation plays an important role, for example with TU Dresden, DRESDEN-concept, and other partners from science and research. From the museum café in the Ernemann Tower, visitors have a view over the city and the Elbe valley.
